Notes

Sutton was granted by the Masonian Proprietors, November 30, 1749, to Obediah Perry and others, and called Perrys-town. The charter was renewed February 24, 1752, and August 18, 1773. The town was incorporated as Sutton, April 13, 1784.

Includes indexes.

Volume 1 contains proprietors records, town records and "loose leaves"; volume 2 contains 3 books of town records, inventories and tax lists; and volume 3 contains volumes A-H tax lists and volumes I-K inventory and tax records.

Includes minutes, surveyors records, inventory and tax lists, accounts, ear markings, and other miscellaneous records.

Also includes deaths for 1806-1890, marriages for 1763-1870 and births 1740-1870.
