Many Motley families descend from John Motley (ca.1630-1684), who left England to settle in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Later descendants and relatives also lived in Alabama, California, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and elsewhere. Includes some transcripts and extracts from local, county, state, and federal sources (vital records, land and property, probates, census, military pensions, etc.).

Includes Mottley, Motlow, and other variant spellings.

Also includes Allman, Andrews, Boulware, Hitson, Johnson, Pearson, Reasonover, Routon, Strickland, Wildey, Willoughby, and other related families.

Quarterly, with only three issues in vol. 1.
