Henry and Adam Murr were sons of John Murr, a Pennsylvania Dutch Methodist Minister and farmer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Henry joined the army where he was twenty-one and Adam joined when he was sixteen. They were both discharged in 1882 at Ft. McKavett, Texas, when it was being abandoned as a fort. They liked the country so they bought land and stayed.

Henry Murr was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania 23 September 1845. He married Mary Jane Kennedy Woolf (1846-1933) in Memphis, Tennessee, 28 May 1867. They had twelve children, four lived to adulthood. Henry died 5 January 1935.

Includes the Hodges, Johnston, Sandherr and other related families.

Adam Ringwalt Murr was born in New Holland, Pennsylvania, 25 February 1861. He married Ellen Elizabeth Mayers (1870-1854) 24 January 1886. They had eleven children. He died 31 August 1923 in San Antonio, Texas.
