Microfilm of original at the Minet Public Library, London.
These are common licenses, not special licenses, as they give the name of the church in which the marriage was to be performed. They were issued by the Vicar General, the Faculty Office or the Bishop of Winchester. The licenses for Southwark are arranged alphabetically by name of groom.
The index is arranged by surname, followed by christian name, then year of marriage, and page number, which can be found in the top right-hand corner of each document.
