Christopher (Kit) Sears (1804-1881) was born in North Carolina and later married Polly Harless in 1828 in Madison County, Alabama. Christopher later moved to Texas after the death of Polly in 1850. He married secondly Mary Hardison Douglass. Ancestry is traced to John Barbee who married Ann Miller in 1709 at Christ Church, Middlesex County, Virginia. His daughter, Rose, married Henry Sears, and they settled in Orange County, North Carolina.

Includes Barbee, Harless, Moser, Loy, Douglass, Hardison, Kirkpatrick, Medlin, Montgomery, Aldridge, Delashaw, Pennington, Harris, and related families.
