Microreproduction of photostat copies at the Virginia State Library in Richmond, Virginia. (Original records were loaned by a private citizen to the Virginia State Library to have the copies made.).

Russell Parish was created in 1754 from Cumberland Parish. Trinity and St. Stephen's churches belonged to it. In 1846 Hamner Parish was created from Russell Parish, and St. Stephen's Church became a part of Hamner Parish. Trinity Church remained with Russell Parish.
