Claremont was granted October 26, 1764 to Col. Josiah Willlard and others, and named for the county set of Lord Robert Clive. The first settlements were made in 1762 by Moses Spafford and David Lynde.
Volume 1 contains proprietors records, Book A, vital statistics. Volume 2 contains town records. Volumes 3-5 contain treasury books. Volume 6 contains town records.
Includes partial index.
Includes minutes, surveyor's records, ear markings, church records, school records, accounts, tax lists and inventory lists.
Includes births 1750-1865, marriages 1773-1860 and deaths 1765-1860.
