Boyers came from Europe to America beginning in 1648. Michael Boyer (d.ca.1761) lived in Augusta County, Virginia. "It is reported that Michael, who died about 1761, was a direct descendant of Sir William Bowyer and wife, Margaret Weld, daughter of Sir John Weld, Knight of Arnolds, Middlesex. Sir William was a director of The London Company (afterwards theThe Virginia Company)."--p. 1. The name of Michael's wife is not known. They had twelve children. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere. Includes some data about the Association of American Boyers, Inc.
