William Burkett Crews (1853-1920) was born in Halifax County, Virginia. He married Ada Florence Zachary (1864-1924) in 1881 at Fulton, Kentucky, and settled in Hickman County, Kentucky. They had thirteen thirteen children, 1882-1905. The family moved to Graves County, Kentucky, near Wingo, ca. 1883; to Etna, Blaine County, Oklahoma, in 1906; and in 1911 to Bogata, Red County, Texas. William B. Crews died at the home of a daughter at Geary, Blaine County, Oklahoma. Ada Florence Crews died at Victoria, Texas. Descendants listed lived in Texas, Oklahoma, California, and elsewhere.

Edward Ervin (ca. 1689-ca. 1772), his wife and children, emigrated from northern Ireland and setted on Long Glade, Augusta County, Virginia, ca. 1740. His grandson, Samuel Irvin (1760-1837), a Revolutionary War solder, was born on Mossy Creek, Augusta County. He married Jane Brewster (1761-1839) in 1788 in Rockingham County, Virginia. They had eight children, 1790-1804. The family migrated to Madison County, Kentucky, ca. 1790. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere.
