Christopher Bickle was born in 1692 in Switzerland or Germany and immigrated to America with his family in 1732 and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His grandson, Johann Adam Bickle, was born in Pennsylvania in 1754, son of Adam Brickle a Revolutionary War soldier. His family migrated to Augusta County, Virginia, ca. 1780. He married Mary Hughes, daughter of James Hughes, ca. 1787. They had at least five children. Descendants listed lived in Virginia, Indiana, and elsewhere.
