A cultural history of the Norwegian company, Wolffs & Dorville, in London, England which involved the exporting of timber from Norway to England and elsewhere. The company was organized in 1767 by two brothers, George and Ernst Wolff from Christiania (Oslo), Oslo, Norway. In 1792 John Dorville who married into the Wolff family became a partner and the company name was changed to Wolffs & Dorville.
Includes a pedigree chart showing the descendants of Frantz Christopher Wolff born in 1699 in Schmalkalden, died in Christiania in 1740. He married in 1729 Inger Bruun. They are the parents of George and Ernst. Also includes biographical sketches of members of the family.
