Notes

These records are arranged in alphabetical order by surname. This index is recommended for searching birth dates if you can remember all the spelling variations for the names of foreigners in Wisconsin. In searching the Birth Records, the certificate numbers usually go to #3000 and then repeat with numbers 1 to 3000 again. The numbers are not always in chronological order. If a certificate is not found where you think it should be, search the preceding and subsequent series of numbers. The contents of a birth record include: name of child occupation of father color sex date of birth father's birthplace mother's birthplace mother's maiden name child's birthplace name of other issue name of doctor father's name residence of doctor.

Births for all counties that begin with the letter "S" are indexed under the wrong county as noted below: ST. CROIX INDEXED AS SAUK SAUK INDEXED AS SAWYER SAWYER INDEXED AS SHAWANO SHAWANO INDEXED AS SHEBOYGAN SHEBOYGAN INDEXED AS ST. CROIX.
