Filming contracted by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City.
In 1892, Paulding was made a station of Payne. In 1893, land was purchased and St. Joseph's church building was completed in 1896. On December 31, 1925, a fire destroyed the church building of St. Joseph. Mass was said at a nearby hall until a new church could be built. In 1927, the new church was completed. St. Joseph is currently a sister parish of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Payne, Ohio.
