"This compilation of obituaries is from various Old Regular Baptist Minutes and other sources. Each obituary has its own source listed. Only the important data has been extracted. The punctuation between names follows the patterns established in each obituary. Many of the names will appear to be incorrect or different because the spellings are unique to the southwestern part of Virginia, eastern Kentucky and parts of West Virginia. Many of the people who were midwives, parents and relatives did not have a formal education so they spelled the names as they sounded.".
