Mordecai Cooke immigrated in 1639 to America and lived first in Elizabeth City County, Virginia. He later recieved land patents in Gloucester County, Virginia. He married in 1648 and died before 1667. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky and elsewhere.
Thomas Booth was born in Lancashire, England, in 1663. He married Mary Cooke, daughter of Mordecai Cooke, in Virginia. They had nine children. He died in Gloucester County, Virginia, in 1736. Descendants lived in Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, California and elsewhere.
Includes the Baytop, Brown, Field, Fox, Page, Shakelford, Talifaferro, Whiting and other related families.
