James Knox, Sr. (1713-1786/1787), son of John Knox and Agnes Johnstone, married Elizabeth Craig , and in 1767 the family immigrated from Glasgow, Scotland to Charleston, South Carolina. They settled on land in Chester County, South Carolina, and moved to Madison County, Kentucky in 1788. Descendants and relatives lived in South Carolina, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Texas, California and elsewhere. Some descendants became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived in Arizona and elsewhere.
Includes Eoff, Gaston, Lyle, Mason, Millen, Morrow and related families.
