"Most of this book deals with John Nelson Biard and his descendants."--Pref. John Nelson Biard, son of Henry and Keranhappuch Baird, was born 15 January 1780 in Buckingham Co., Virginia and died 9 January 1839 in Limestone Co., Alabama. By 1799 the Biard family was living in Blount Co., Tennessee. It was here that John married Rebecca Stone of Sevier Co., Tennessee in about 1803. Rebecca, daughter of Ezekiel and Jane Stone, was born 12 October1782 in North Carolina and died 18 February 1848 in Lamar Co., Texas. John Nelson and Rebecca Stone Biard " ... went with the Stones to Bledsoe Co., Tenn., in about 1813, and in 1819 to Limestone Co., Alabama. John Nelson Biard died in 1839, and his family came Lamar Co., Texas in 1846."--P. 7. Most of the Biard children, married by now, moved to Texas along with their mother. Includes some descendants of John's brother George Biard (Beard). Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, California, New Mexico, Washington, Hawaii, Arizona, Missouri and elsewhere.
