Notes

The Cedar Street Presbyterian Church was organized in 1808 by members from the Wall Street and Brick Presbyterian churches. In 1836 the congregation moved to Duane Street, in 1852 to 5th Avenue at 19th Street, and in 1875 to Fifth Avenue and 55th Street.

The session minutes include baptisms, deaths, admissions, dismissals, congregational lists, finances such as contributions, etc. The second volume from 1827-1835 was destroyed in a fire and other records were used to construct the missing years.

Includes records of various missionary activities in the city: Seventh Avenue Chapel, Romeyn Chapel, Alexander Chapel, John Hall Memorial Chapel, Chinese Sunday School.
