Richard Thayer (1601-1664) was baptized at Thornbury, Gloucestershire, England. He married Dorothy Mortimer (d. 1640/41) in 1624 at Thornbury. They had eight children, 1624/5-1640. He and his children immigrated to America in 1641, settled first at Boston, moved to Braintree later that year, and back to Boston ca. 1646. He married 2) Jane Parker, a widow at Boston in 1646. Richard and Jane Thayer returned to England after 1656. Jane died in England and he married 3) Katherine ___ in England. Richard and Katherine Thayer were living in the Barbados Islands by 1660. He died at St. Michael, Barbados. Descendants listed lived, especially descendants of Martin Clinton Thayer (1943-1909) lived in Massachusetts, Kansas, New York and elsewhere.
