John Cale (1726-1797), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in Frederick County, Virginia. He settled at Capon River, Hampshire County, Virginia, ca. 1740. He married Elizabeth Pugh (1730-1796), in 1752. They had at least three children, 1759-1770. Their son, George Cale (1770-1861), and his wife, Mary Capper, had ten children, 1794-1812. The family migrated to Guernsey County, Ohio, ca. 1824. Descendants listed lived in Ohio and elsewhere.
