Charles Reagan, Sr. was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia, ca. 1734. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had eight children. He and several of his sons served in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. After the war, the family moved to that part of North Carolina which is now the State of Tennessee. He died in Blount County, Tennessee, in 1815. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Texas, and elsewhere.

Includes the Kirkland, Whitley, and other related families.
