A directory of members' names, addresses, telephone numbers, marriage announcemenets, club registers, in memoriam, business directory, Leading Clubs, and their officers of the Original Society Register for Southern California. The directory was founded in 1903 and began publication the same year. "With an unbroken record of forty-three annual editions as its background, the Southwest Blue Book for 1947 adds still another to the long series. We believe the 1947 issue will sustain this publication's reputation as the standard society register of Southern California, the book having been carefully revised and brought down to date. The listing ofmany ieligible new comers has augmented the already large soster of older first families; there are special sections devoted to the year's marriages, clubs and other features while an unusually large number of address and telephone changes will be noted." -- Lenora King Berry, founder, editor, and publisher.
