Notes

These include people of "Color" and are noted as such on the forms even though it may be in abbreviation such as pc, fpc, fmc, fwc, etc. "Colored" filmings have only the title board to indicate this.

These are loose papers. They consist of all types of marriage papers but almost all contain either the license and return or the license and certificate. They are arranged in date order (although there is some misfiling) and later ones have numbers which are mixed because of the date of issue.

MARRIAGE REGISTERS WHICH ARE ARRANGED IN ALPHAPBETICAL ORDER BY THE NAME OF THE GROOM MAY BE USED AS AN INDEX FOR THESE PAPERS.
