John Bullock was born in about 1800 in Halifax County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Hatmaker, daughter of Francis Hatmaker and Hannah Sharp, in about 1819 in Campbell County, Tennessee. They had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee.

Hugh Bullock was born in 1577 in Devonshire, England. He married Mary Alice Hinson Nashe in 1601. They were living in Virginia by 1631. They had one known son, William, who married Elizabeth Lampley in about 1619. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas.
