Edmond Chaundeler (later Chandler) was born at or near London, England, ca. 1588/9, probably the son of John and Jane Gitton Chaundeler of St. Margaret Moyses. He immigrated to the Barbadoes ca. 1625, and to the Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts by 1632. He died at Duxbury, Massachusetts, in 1662. Record follow's line of descent to the author's father, Roscoe Perry Chandler, son of Bradley Benjamin Chandler (1830-1916). He was born in 1864 at Natick, Massachusetts. He married Nancy Naomi Case (1858-1922) in 1887, at Riverside, California. They had a son who died young and two daughters. He practiced denistry at Reno, Nevada, until retirement in 1943.

Includes the Allen, Cilley/Sealy, French, Perry, Wing, and other ancestral families of the author.
