Newsletter for the interchange of genealogy data and history of Snodgrasses (and variant spellings) of England, Ireland, and Scotland. The name originated in Irvine parish of Ayrshire, Cunningham, Scotland. Variant forms of the name were recorded in Ayrshire and Glasgow in the 13th-16th Century. In the 1600-1700s, Snodgrasses immigrated to Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia. Some were among the First Families of Western Pennsylvania. Among them were 3 Snodgrass brothers, "Old" John, James (called Blue Jim), and William (called Squire Billy). Some descendants intermarried and moved to Virginia. During 1800s, some moved to Alberta, New Brunswick, and Ontario (Canada), Australia, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Washington Territory, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Later descendants lived in British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan (Canada), Austria, India, Jamaica, New South Wales, Nigeria (West Africa), Northern Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Alaska, Arizona, Arkanasas, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington D.C., Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some have African American bloodlines. Names of slaves are given. Births, marriages, deaths, and other data was extracted from Bible records, biographies, cemetery inscriptions, census records, church records, county histories, court records, death records, deeds, indentures, inventories, letters, marriage records, military records, obituaries, parish records, pensions, probates, shared research, Soundex, special indexes, state source books, state vital records, tax records, wills, and other records. Also includes tombstone inscriptions for Snodgrasses and related families found in the Snodgrass Family Cemetery. The cemetery is on the original David and Elizabeth Walker Snodgrass farm located 8 miles southeast of Mount Pleasant, Titus County, Texas. The cemetery was established in 1851, and birth dates found on the tombstones are as early as 1789. Information from other cemeteries in other states were also extracted.

Also includes lists of persons belonging to the Tomahawk Presbyterian Church which was established ca. 1745 in the Tomahawk area now known as Hedgesville, Berkeley County, West Virginia. Lists includes the Tuscarora Congregation, the Back Creek Congregation, the One Spring Place Congregation, and possibly others.
