The parish of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan began as a station of Defiance in 1856. This station was transferred to Stryker in 1865 and then to Edgerton in 1867. In 1875, the care was transferred to Archbold. In this same year the parish built their first church. A new brick church was built in 1890. With the completion of the church building the status of the parish changed from a station to a mission. St. Patrick Catholic Church received their first resident pastor in 1915. The parish built a rectory for the pastor in 1917. The parish built their second, and current, church in 1957. It is a church and school combination building.
