The parish of Immaculate Conception in Marygrove began as a station of St. Francis de Sales in Toledo beginning in the year 1847. By the end of the year in 1847 the parish completed its first church. With the completion of the church building the status of the parish changed from a station to a mission. In 1849, the care of the Mission was transferred to Maumee. In 1863, the parish began building a frame church to replace the log chapel. It was completed in 1864. The original chapel was turned into a school. The parish received its first resident priest in 1865. Ten years later the parish built their third church because the second church was completely destroyed by a fire. The third church was completed in 1878, but was destroyed by a cyclone in 1880. The third church was reconstructed, but was completely destroyed in 1920 by a tornado. The parish began rebuilding their church in 1924. It was completed in 1925. This church is still used today.
