In 1846, the first church of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church was built. In 1853, the need for a larger church was realized and a larger and more modern church was built. Over the years the parish experienced steady growth. The parish began with several hundred parishioners and now has over six thousand members. To accommodate this growth the church has been renovated and remodeled.
Some of the baptism indexes include date of baptism, date of birth, name, names of parents, names of sponsors, name of priest, book number and page number. Some of the marriage indexes include date of marriages, names of wife and husband, names of witness, name of priest, book number and page number.
Some volumes include individual index.
Some text in Latin, Italian and French.
