Before Oklahoma became a state, the area that later became Bryan County was in the Central District of Indian Territory. Marriages were recorded by the United States District Court in Durant.
For a time, since Bryan County covered a large area, district commissioners recorded marriages in Caddo and Bennington.
Includes a general index to both grooms (direct) and brides (indirect). In addition, there are indexes at the beginning of some volumes.
