Richard Goode was born in England in about 1580-1600. His parents were Richard Goode and Joan Downe. He had two sons, John and Richard, who emigrated and settled in Henrico County, Virginia and Rappahannock County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky.

Includes Aldridge, Burgess, Burnett, Cox, Hall, Irvin, McCoy, Sims, Warren, Wier, Wood and related families.
