Jacob Mann, Jr. was born in 1745 in McGaheysville, Rockingham, Virginia. His parents were Jacob Mann (1724-1795) and Barbara Miller. He married Mary Kessinger (1763-1851), daughter of Mathias Kessinger and Cynthia Tassens, 24 August 1779 in Augusta County, Virginia. They had ten children. Jacob died in 1815 in Springfield, West Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia. West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois and Indiana.
