Memory Lane: Family Memories Preservation Center

Walk-ins are welcome, but to ensure you can use the equipment, a reservation is recommended.

You are welcome to arrive early to your appointment and chat with a Memory Lane scanning specialist. Unfortunately, we do not have a way for you to contact us. If you have a question about scanning, we recommend clicking on the relevant image below and reviewing the "Preparing for your visit" section above.

Memory Lane is a self-serve space. Tech specialists are available to assist you and answer questions. Preparing before your session is recommended and you can become acquainted with the equipment you have reserved by clicking on the relevant images on this page.

We require you to remain with your media during the entire transfer. Please note that transferring video and film occurs in real time. We suggest bringing a laptop or project to work on while the VHS, audio, or film transfers.

On the third floor and B2, we have several book scanning stations that do not require a reservation. Note that because of this, a spot is not guaranteed.

Memory Lane is located on the 2nd floor of the FamilySearch Library. Upon arrival, check in and the staff will help you find your reserved station.
