FamilySearch Library Policies

The use of phones is permitted, but please be mindful and respectful of those around you. If longer phone calls are needed to be made, we invite you to take them outside, in the stairwell, or in the bathroom.

Children are welcomed at the library. The main floor has a children's area where you can work on your family history while watching your small children. Children must not be left unattended.

Appropriate clothing, including footwear, is required.

Please respect our facility and others' belongings. Interfering with, misusing, or damaging equipment, resources, facilities, or others' belongings is prohibited.

You are welcome to consume food and drinks in the main floor snack room. Spill-proof bottles with tight lids are permitted throughout the Library. Smoking is not permitted on the premises.

Harassment can take many forms, none of which are allowed in the Library. Any action, behavior or words that are unwelcome and demeans, threatens, offends, humiliates or intimidates is considered harassment. Any behavior by a guest, staff or missionary that makes someone feel uncomfortable can be considered harassment and is not allowed.

Harassment can be sexual, verbal, religious, physical, or racial.

Examples of sexual harassment are:

• Coercion
• Discomfort or fear
• Unwanted sexual attention
• Unwelcome touching
• Jokes
• Sexualized conversations or communications
• Repeated requests for dates
• Sexual gestures
• Displaying pornography
• Insults

Other examples of harassment that are not sexual in nature but that are also not permitted are:

• To disparage someone’s race, religion, physical body, dress, or speech.

Individuals who harass others may be banned from the Library temporarily or permanently.

Pornography and other inappropriate uses of the computers is not permitted.

Do not leave personal belongings unattended. The Library is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or damaged. We encourage guests to use the free lockers available on the various floors.

Service animals are allowed in the FamilySearch Library with proper documentation. Comfort animals are not permitted.

Weapons of any kind are prohibited on the premises. Threatening or intimidating others in any manner is prohibited.
