Aloy Family History

Aloy Name Meaning

English (of Norman origin): variant of Almey, perhaps from the Old French personal name Almay, Latin Almedius. The Latin form of the name is recorded in France in the early 9th century, but its rarity there and its absence from post-Conquest English records make it an uncertain source of the English surname.

History: William Almy came to MA from England in 1631; he settled in RI in 1642.
