Mary Olive Burrows was born in 1853 at Woodstock, Illinois, the daughter of Lathrop Huckins Storrs Burrows (b. 1826) and Emily Sarah Parker Burrows (1833-1918). She married Frank Edward Landers (b. 1844) in 1874. They had four children, 1875-1888. The family lived at Webster City, Iowa. Record traces her ancestry to John Burrows (1609-1692), who emigrated from Yarmouth, England, with his wife and settled at Salem, Massachusetts. He married twice and was the father of six children. The family moved to Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1665. Also traces her ancestry through the Burrows and other and other lines to noble and royal ancestry in England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, and elsewhere.
