Chiefly descendants of George Wesley Armistead (1835-1915). He was born at Hampton, Virginia, the son of Robert Augustus Armistead (1808-1891) and a descendant of William Armistead (b. 1610), who immigrated to Virginia, ca. 1634. He married Anna Maria Harrison in 1860 at Hampton, Virginia. They had six children, 1816-1875. The family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1883, and in his later years he lived at Hopskinsville, Kentucky, where he died. He was first buried at Hopkinsville, but his body was later moved to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, and elsewhere.

Includes the Anderson, Cate, Mayo, Phipps, Tabb and other allied families.
