Jesse Arnote came from England to America about the close of the American Revolution and settled in New Jersey. His son, William, later moved to Monroe County, Virginia (West Virginia) and then to Hawkins County, Tennessee. One descendant, James Samuel Arnote, son of William and Eliza Susan Owen Arnote, was born in Mercer County , Missouri in 1862. He married Stella Rock in 1900. They settled in McAlester, Oklahoma.
