This report was originally transcribed from the "Proceedings of the Loyalist Commissioners, 1785-1787" (held at the Library of Congress, U.S.), and published by the Ontario Bureau of Archives as their second report, 1904.
Two commissioners were sent from London to British North America to receive claims from Loyalists living in eastern Canada. "Evidence was taken at Halifax, St. John, Quebec and Montreal, and six reports were made, showing that 1401 claims were heard ..."--p. 20.
