Upon the abolishment of the county court in Iowa in 1869, its jurisdiction was transferred to the circuit court which was created at that time and which was continued until 1886. When the circuit court was abolished in 1886, its jurisdiction was passed on to the district court in the beginning of 1887.
The general index refers to the probate docket. The probate docket, in turn, refers to the appropriate volume of probate records.
