The Horn family from Shenandoah Co., Va. through S.W. Virginia, Carter Co., Tennessee and on to Kentucky. Aron Horn (d. 1779) probably came to America from Germany. He and his wife Elizabeth had seven children: 1. Christopher (1752-1837), who married (2) Elizabeth (b. 1781) in 1817 in Knox Co., Ky.; 2. Polly born ca. 1759, lived in Estill Co., Ky. and married Joseph Proctor (b.ca. 1755) in 1777; 3. Aaron, who was born ca. 1760 in Baltimore, Md. and lived in Madison Co., Ky. 4. Mathias (ancestor of the author) (1762-1834), who was born in Rockbrigde Co., Va., and married Susanna Hall (ca. 1762-1842) in 1782 in Fayette Co., Ky. She died in Huntsville, Missouri, he in Estill Co., Ky. 5. William (ca. 1764-1842); 6. Sarah, who married Daniel Dumford; and 7. Jeremiah, who married Patsy Horn in 1822 in Madison Co., Ky.
