This is not a true index but abstracts of probate records. The abstracts are arranged alphabetically under each county.
Contains abstracts of estate settlements for the 13 counties formed before 1800: Hampshire, Berkeley, Monongalia, Ohio, Greenbrier, Harrison, Hardy, Randolph, Pendleton, Kanawha, Brooke, Wood, and Monroe. Each entry gives the person's name, type of document, document's date, and other names found in the document.
