William Mitchell was born at Robb's Hole Virginia, in 1747. He served in the Continental Army under General Washington in the Revolutionary War. His grandson, Giles Mitchell, was born in 1787 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, the son of William and Cloa Nance Mitchell. At the age of fourteen, he migrated to Kentucky with his uncle, Edgar Michell. He moved to Clark County, Indiana, in 1810. Descendants lived in Indiana, Ohio, and elsewhere.
Includes the Hutsell, Scott, and other related families.
Includes 1982-85 correspondence and research notes on the family.
