The Memorial Foundation of the Germanna Colonies "has issued thirteen records which record events surrounding the establishment of the original settlers [mainly of German descent] on the estate [in area of Orange and Culpeper counties] of Alexander Spotswood, Virginia Colonial Governor from 1710-1722. Genealogy of these parties is predominant. "Record Numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13 did not contain indexes to the hundreds of names. To date, indexes have been prepared for 1, 3, 4, 6, and 10." -- prelim.
