Daniel Candler (d.1765), the father of William Candler of Georgia, immigrated to Charleston about 1735 from Callan, County Kilkenny, Ireland. He went at once to North Carolina, and then on to Bedford (now Campbell) County, Virginia. William Candler (d.1784) married Elizabeth Anthony in Bedford County, and moved in 1768/1769 to Saint Paul's Parish, Georgia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and elsewhere.

Includes Anthony, Clark, Few, Myrick, Perry, Simpson and other families.
