Transcribed mainly from town records kept by Micaiell Taintor of Colchester, with some transcripts kept by Michaell Taintor of Branford.

The main part of the book is the recording of Micaiell Taintor [1701-1731] including vital records (p. 82-112), Proprietors' records (p. 116-144) and extracts from the Watrous copy of the first book of town records (p. 144-146) Specimens of the recording of Micaiell Taintor "of Brainford," 1667-1670, with the "New plantation & church covenant": p. 147-152. Appendix: Lists of polls for 1787, for the first society, the parish of Westchester, the Parish of New Salem, and the Marlborough society.
