John Slavin (1723-1802) immigrated from Ireland to Philadelphia in 1740 and moved to Augusta County, Virginia, where he married Elizabeth Stuart in 1748. They later moved to Bath (later Highland) County, Virginia. Most descendants used the surname of Slaven or Slavens, and lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, California and elsewhere.
Includes Andre, Andrews, Shy, Terrill, Wilkinson and related families.
