The early volumes of death certificates are grouped together by localities (arranged somewhat alphabetically) within each volume and then in loose chronological order (or in reverse chronological order) within each locality grouping. Locality groupings vary for each volume. Stillbirths are usually in a separate grouping. Beginning with v. 12, the certificates are no longer grouped by locality but are in one chronological listing (with some out of chronological order according to the death date because they are filed by the registration date).
