Shadrach Pruett , son of William Pruett and Judith Dudley, was born in about 1762 in Halifax County, Virginia. He married and had at least seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee, Missouri and Texas.

Includes Prewitt, Pruitt, Glenn, Hite, Hobby, Roberts and related families.
