This class is an introduction to Mid-South research and the history and record sets these states have in common. Covered are land, probate, tax, church, military and court records. Also included are short overviews of records and helpful archives unique to each state.

The first of a three-part series, this lesson will introduce you to South African research. The class will first discuss historical events that affected South African research, then talk about the major record types that can assist you in finding your South African ancestors.
